Agricultural electrician in Spalding & South Holland

Farm buildings around Spalding, Holbeach and South Holland need electrical work that copes with dust, moisture, motors and long hours. PPM Electrical Ltd installs and repairs farm electrics, from grain stores and poultry houses to workshops and irrigation.

Farm electrics that match the job

A grain store, a poultry shed and a workshop each have different risks. We specify IP-rated lighting and fittings, correctly protected circuits, and isolators you can reach when you need to shut plant down quickly. We are used to corrugated barns, fibre-cement roofs, and boards that have been extended over decades.

Three-phase is common on Lincolnshire holdings. We install and upgrade boards, motors and controls for dryers, fans, conveyors and pumps, and we will tell you honestly if the incoming supply needs a DNO conversation before you add more load.

Grain stores, dryers and workshops

Harvest is not the time for a failed fan or a tripped board you cannot reset safely. We service and repair the electrical side of grain drying and storage, add lighting for winter working, and tidy workshop supplies so welders, compressors and vehicle chargers do not fight each other on the same circuit.

Poultry houses and livestock buildings

Lighting, ventilation and heating controls in poultry and livestock buildings have to be reliable. We install and fault-find those circuits, replace failed fittings, and plan upgrades so you are not running everything through a tired consumer unit in a dusty corner.

Generators, backup and solar

Many farms now add solar on the barn roof and a battery or generator for peak loads. Because we do both electrical and MCS solar work, we can look at the whole picture: what the dryer draws, what the roof can take, and how a battery or generator should sit with the existing board. See our farm solar page for arrays on barns and grain stores.

Local, not a national call centre

We are based in Spalding (PE11). Typical travel is short to Holbeach, Long Sutton, Crowland, Bourne, Gosberton, Donington, Pinchbeck and the Deepings. If something has failed at 6am before a drying run, you want a number that is answered locally.

Examples of our work

A new three-phase distribution board and electric radiant heating from our recent commercial work in Lincolnshire. Farm workshops and outbuildings often need the same kind of distribution and heating work.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work on fibre-cement or older barn electrics?
Yes, with a survey first. We will not start invasive work until we have seen the condition of the board, wiring and access. Solar on fibre-cement roofs is a separate structural question — see farm solar.
Do you install three-phase for grain dryers?
We install and alter three-phase distribution and motor circuits. Supply upgrades with the DNO are quoted after we measure the existing capacity.
